The smallest town on the plateau can still have the best-lit street.
Metolius is a few hundred people and a railway line. That is plenty — we design it, hang it, maintain it, and take it down, with no ladder for you.
Hanging your own lights in a Metolius December is a cold, brittle, slightly dangerous way to lose a weekend.
You drag the tangled box out of the shop. Half the strand is dead — the high-desert sun took care of that over the summer. Now you're up a ladder on frosted eaves, fingers numb, light gone by half past four.
Hours later, it's… fine. A little crooked over the garage. And once the hard freezes settle in, you get to do the whole miserable thing again in reverse come January.
There's a better way — and 1,000+ Oregon homeowners have already found it.
Imagine doing absolutely nothing — and having the best lights on the road.
Whether you're on one of the streets off the old rail line, out toward Agency Plains, or on farm ground between here and Culver — you never see a ladder. A designer maps your property, our crew installs a flawless custom display, we keep it perfect all season, and we quietly take it down when the holidays end.
- Custom-designed for your home — not generic store strands
- Installed by trained, insured Central Oregon locals
- Maintained all season — a dark bulb is our problem
- Taken down and stored, clean and damage-free

Metolius exists because of the railway, and it never tried to be anything else.
The town was platted in the early 1900s when the railways were racing each other up the Deschutes canyon, and it was briefly expected to become something considerable. It didn't, and it has been quietly getting on with things ever since.
Today it is a few hundred people on the benchland between Madras and Culver, named for a river it doesn't touch, with Agency Plains north and farm ground in every other direction.
On a street this short, a single well-lit house changes the whole town.
We light every street in Metolius.
We're not a national chain parachuting in with a truck of generic strands. We've served Central Oregon since 2006, and our warehouse is five minutes up the road in Madras:
Built for a Metolius winter.
At about 2,530 feet on open benchland, Metolius gets the full high-desert package — hard freezes, forty-degree day-to-night swings, open wind, and the clear high-altitude sun that destroys cheap plastic over a summer.
- Hard freezes & sub-zero nights: sealed components rated for the cold that settles into the high desert after dark
- Freeze-thaw swings: hardware built for forty-degree day-to-night drops that crack cheap sockets
- 300 days of UV: UV-stabilised materials that resist the fading and brittleness that destroys big-box plastic
- Open high-desert wind: low-profile, properly anchored installs that stay put on exposed ground all season

Not a franchise. Not a truck full of generic strands.

How much does holiday lighting installation cost in Metolius, OR?
Every property is different, though most Metolius homes are straightforward single-storey jobs. We give you a clear, fixed quote up front with no surprises and no hidden fees. Start with the form, call (541) 803-3698, or design your home in Light Designer for a real price in about 60 seconds.
Is my house too small to bother with?
Not at all. A modest single-storey home done properly — clean lines, the right warm white, nothing crooked — looks far better than a large house done badly. Same fixtures, same guarantee, same 24-hour service.
Do you offer permanent lighting in Metolius?
Yes. Permanent architectural lighting is a low-profile, app-controlled system installed into your roofline — invisible by day, any color by night. One install covers Christmas, the Fourth, game days, and everyday curb appeal, with a Lifetime Guarantee on materials.
What if a light goes out mid-season?
It's our problem, not yours. Call us and we're at your door within 24 hours. You'll never change a bulb again — season-long service is included, not an add-on.
Do you take the lights down too?
Yes — takedown is included. When the season ends we remove everything, leave your home clean and damage-free, and store your materials for next year. A free post-takedown inspection comes standard.
What's the guarantee, exactly?
If you're not happy, your lights are free — plus a Lifetime Guarantee on materials. Licensed, bonded and insured in Oregon, CCB #257964, family-owned since 2006.
